What is a good plug to use on a 318 with standard compression 270 magnum solid com cam older single plane edelbrock with 4 speed in 65 barracuda? I was planing on using Champion 14's. Is that to hot?

Seems like the standard plug is a good place to start. Recognizing that the carb is going to have to be adjusted to suit the cam IMHO the most reasonable course of action is to get the carb straight first, then install clean, standard plugs, read, then adjust heat range as required.

That's the plug I use. (Champs) and work downward from there. (Heat range number, 14 - 12 etc....) Chances are the 14 will be fine and a colder plug may or maynot show a difference. A test and tune at the track will help.
