That’s what I said the first time my brother handed me an invoice from a supplier we by spark plugs from, I about feel out of the chair. We have cam buckets (lifters) custom made, cost us 92 each (before import duty) and there is 32 per motor. It’s just the tip of a whole different level of crazy.

Yeah after I had 4 or 5 plugs cut up by my friend after a couple pulls on the Dyno and then had to wait a day to do the next test I got a little irritated lol, since then I use a flashlight and guess.
Disclaimer though, I'm an engine machinist & have a very good idea of thicknesses by eye & test myself regularly.
 

I was always taught to correctly read the spark plugs on a race car that you cross the finish line, let off the gas, and cut the ignition.

By the time you idle back around to the pits the plugs will have changed.

I've used NGK plugs in my engines for at least 35 years. Hard to beat their quality.
