I have noticed that with headers the drivers side worries me a bit because of how close the wires are to the headers. How easy do straight wires burn though? Should I be looking for 90 degree wires? Anyone have any suggestions??

I have those Yellow Accel straight wires and I think I might be having some arching issues too.

Thanks much!

90* boot ends help, but also crowd the small area. It is doable.

Also consider a fire sleeve over the plug wire.

I have the same wires.

I put the kevlar heat sleeves over them that i got from advance auto parts.

I had to unfold the sleeve to remove the metal o-ring inside, then it slid over the wire ends otherwise they won't slide past the large end.

I have accel wires that came in a kit w both 90 degree ends and straight ends I used two of the 90 degree ends on the back two plugs on he drivers side and then used looms to bring them up to the cap w/o touhing the header. hope this helps.

Use 90 degree ends on the 2 back left wires (#s 5 & 7) and straight ends on all others.

Route 5 & 7 across the firewall and drop them down above the steering shaft and then to the plugs.

Please excuse the crud, it has taken 9 years to get that look.

Very useful Yellowdartdave! However it appears that the yellow part of the wire is still hitting (or very close too) the headers. I take it that hasn't been a issue?

With those sleeves I could probably get away with the straight boots too then, huh?

The # 7 wire is about 1 and 1/2 inch from the pipe and I put those wires and car together over 8 years ago.

Are those Accels good wires to stick with then? I just noticed they have sets around $34.00.

I like my MSD wires. You cut them to fit and it comes with everything needed to put the ends on.

Could you send me a link to which MSD wires that they are?
I'm just always afraid that making my own wires, I'll screw them up somehow! lol!
