Special Order Tag

Special Older tag Is this common on 66 Valiant. I just got to ask
I am new to a tag like this so I a kinda wondering.

They are common to police cars. See how the left edge has no paint? The car it originally came from had the option tag covering that part of this one when the chassis was painted.

Some people do seem to like them, they are a popular add on.
