65-66 cable ends, note the thumb grip end on the trans side...

Pretty sure that is incorrect. 65 down had the "plug in" end at the trans, and screw on end at the speedo. 66 had screw on end at the trans and screw on at the speedo. Not sure on 67.
Pretty sure (not really sure what year the speedo end changed) 68 had screw on at the trans, and "snap on" at the speedo

Got 'er done. Cable was pricey, but now I can tell how much I am speeding!

I have both a 65 904 and 833 and both take the 64 style.
