The blue dart what are the withes of the front and back rims
Fifteens on the back, cause the great majority of drag tires are that size. Tall sidewall height helps a drag tire to hook,Lately, I've seen a lot of drag racers put 15's on the back and 17's on the front. Not sure why that's popular these days. Tire availability maybe?

a 15 will work much better than a short sidewall 20. I think the majority of the 17 use on the front is to clear modern big brake setups.

Thank you. Yeah, I agree with the 70-73 body style. This is a 70 model with a built 455 from a 73 Trans Am. Very quick. Not a 4 speed, but I installed a Hurst Dual Gate (His &Hers) shifter so I could have a little fun. That is a great looking car !
70-73 Firebirds are my favorite years followed by 67/68s
I would give my right nut for a 71 Furmula 455 SD 4 sp !
I don't think Hurst came out with the H/H until mid-late 70's. And, to my knowledge, it was not a dealer installed option. It was a "day 2" upgrade you could find at a speed shop. I could be wrong though.Did they offer the His/Hers in 70 ?
Just curious ...
