Steering column covers...

Didn't someone post a "how to" on cutting the column shift stuff off?
When I picked up our Dart a few years back from my friends place I ended up leaving my floor shift column covers there. Thanks to me being a slacker I never bugged EZ about shipping them to me...well...EZ passed away last summer...Wouldn't feel right asking his wife about them...
