Hello, I am finishing up the rebuild on my steering column my 1974 Duster 4-speed and I am not sure where this spring goes. Any ideas?

I believe it is used for the ignition lock release. (I wish I took a better picture before I tore it apart!)

Its the tension spring for the part you have to press to turn the key to the lock position.

Okay! I found it in the service manual which I have been looking at forever. I guess I needed to turn one more page. Duh!

It is on page 19-46 of the 1974 Chasis service manual. It goes in the Shift Housing and is connected to a dowl and goes left to right.

Thanks

goes in the "spare parts" bin..:toothy10::toothy10:
