steering column swap wiring

When swapping out an 67-69 a body steering column from auto column shift to 4 speed column, is the wiring harnesses just plug and play? I noticed my auto column has an extra orange wire in the harness where the 4 speed doesn't have one.

I think that the Orange wire is for the light that illuminates the P RND lense.

In Old mopars, the orange wire is used for variable illumination. Mostly, and more then likely in this case.
