the plate that bolts to the firewall at the end of my steering columun , holes wont line up . are there different plates ? would stick and auto be different? does anyone have one ?

loosen the bolts on the cross mount under the dash and heave the whole caseing about
if need be you might need to disconnect at the pot coupler as well or loosen the steering box bolts

the plate has big holes so it can be moved to where it wants to go
the bolts, bolt through to captive nuts as far as i can tell

so unless you have the wrong one or its on backwards (is that possible) or the car has had the kind of impact that makes 1 side shorter than the other. fitting just takes a bit of fiddling about

this plate will need to be done up first then do the under dash mounting which has elongated holes to help

if this upper mount is done up tight first you can't move the lower mounting about very much to find the bolt holes

There is a plate with two bolts that bolts to that plate, loosen those two bolts and both plates will spin.
