.070 does sound like a big pile of shavings when they are done. A good candidate for some thickness testing. How long is the stroke on that combo?Soo.. gonna try to finish tearing down this 360 this weekend so i can get it to a machine shop... not sure it will clean up at .030, the ridge on top is pretty bad. BUT.. the ridge measured like 3.970 so it is probably mostly carbon, will try to scrape some off later to see. I was looking at the 426 kit and hughes page lists 4.030 OR 4.070.. nothing in between.. wondering if that's a typo.. .070 on a 360 seems like not much would be left..
Also noticed Ohio Crankshaft offers their full forged kits for a few hundred less than hughes but no 426..
4.180 everything i read is that even .060 is pushing a 360, especially if you make a bit of power.070 does sound like a big pile of shavings when they are done. A good candidate for some thickness testing. How long is the stroke on that combo?
Once you get over 4" stroke and 400 cubes, bigger and longer doesn't make much difference it seems. A friend built a 426 for his Demon and it isn't much faster than a well built 408.I wish the cyls were better in this thing, i would just buy a standard bore kit and make a 403One of the drag and drive guys did that this year and the thing finished no problem while using n2o

Other than over bore, how do they get the bigger cubes? Offset grind a stroker crank and use a smaller diameter rod? There isn't much of a price difference though.. so seems silly not to go bigger.
4.180 crank with 4.030 bore.. the rods are nascar size journals (i think 1.89) and smaller wrist pins (.912?) much lighter bob weight also and no clearancing neededOther than over bore, how do they get the bigger cubes? Offset grind a stroker crank and use a smaller diameter rod?
Someone put their thinking cap on there.4.180 crank with 4.030 bore.. the rods are nascar size journals (i think 1.988) and smaller wrist pins (.880?) much lighter bob weight also and no clearancing needed
40 foot tree and a 30 foot rope?
