Stop in for a cup of coffee

I was in Pueblo West for a couple of years. Loved the area around Alamosa with the mountain views. I've gone skiing at Wolf Creek and Cuchara
I would like to take a trip to Denver and head south sometime. I can imagine there is lots of beautiful scenery.

I'm jealous. I have had a few cletrac's ang Oliver HG's but I always wanted the JD 420 crawler.
My dad bought it new. Rebuilt the one final drive last, put new seals in the hydraulic pump, changed all fluids and rebuilt the 420 valve stack on it. Should be good to go other than aligning the tracks.

Flights are more, but into Colorado Springs Airport, south on 25 then either Route 50 the back way up toward Leadville or up over Wolf Creek Pass on 160 is a little less touristy and a cooler drive in my opinion.

Put hood on the Mustang, looks like it has clearance. Now in the process of coaching a nice young man how to replace valves, seals and how to lap them. Started with the firestarter stick and then showed him the drill on valve stem technique. Old school vs new school. By the time he has done all 12 valves he will be a pro.

We need more people like you with the skillset and the willingness to teach. You may never know how many lives you have saved through your teaching. Thank you for your service.

Dang, you clean up pretty good! :poke:
Genuine thanks for that Mike. Doing what we do typically goes unnoticed and unappreciated until something goes horribly wrong. Sadly in our role it is not a popularity contest. We have to be brutally honest and zero filter. The stakes are simply too high to worry about folks feelings, kinda like this thread! Hah! Seriously, thanks for the kind words.

I threw my back out trying to start an old Homelite chain saw. Damn old 2 strokes.

Last time my chainsaws wouldn't start (Huge poulon sp?) with tons of compression i thought i was going to have a heart attack pulling.. i threw every one of them on the curb.. went and got a $140 Echo 14" and the thing starts first pull every time.. started it a week ago after 2 years just to run some gas through the carb.. worth it.

This is why I gave up on purchasing any used small engine/yard tool...

Hope your back feels better quick

Ice Ice Baby
You have to push hard down with your left arm and pull your guts out with your right. Between my shoulders and my lumbar area are not happy with me now. I sat it on the ground, stepped on it to hold it down, and still couldn't start it. It does turn over. May be I should pull the plug and spray some WD or something inside in case it has a little surface rust in there.

Home from work.
I started to pull the front fender off that old Chevy pickup dressed in John deere green and yellow.
The guy that owns it said the body shop that restored it took it all apart and cleaned up all the rust. :bs_flag:Pulled the fender back away from the cowl area and that fender hasn't been off in 50 years or longer. Pisses me off that someone would do that and charge to do it right.

Low Bar, Fred.

Tough to find quality craftsmanship any longer
