Stop in for a cup of coffee

It's it possible the ballast resistor is bad and not enough resistance and cooking the coil??

I feel like i would check the ballast resistor and possibly replace it with a new coil.

Maybe??

Oh wait never mind, you don't have a factory set up on that car so forget the ballast resistor chat
Thank yiou Rainy. Yeah it is an MSD Ready to Run Pro Billet. 12v no ballast. I swapped the coil for another and it fired right up. New one will be here in the AM.

Lookie Lookie what I got delivered today. Ordered all the interior stuff on July 14th. Got some of the stuff including the seat foam a few weeks ago. Then I got worried and called them. Told them I definitely had to have this before the 13th of October. So I guess the girl helped me out. Finally got the vinyl covering for the buckets and the rear bench. I'm stoked.

When do you fly out?

I have a friend telling me I should look into a HEI ignition system now that I'm about to convert the valiant from points to electronic ignition.

I always stayed very strict with factory parts because I'm not a racer. Anyone who challenges me to a race, will probably win because my cars are slow and for use on the street.

For the first time in looking into HEI, I have already started swapping cars over to the newer mini starters, because why wouldn't you, they are better than the originals in every way.

Slant 6 or v8? HEI is a good conversion. I am a Pertronix fan. Very few issues I have seen here or on the other sites.

Running HEI in my Scamp and working good for me so far.

Picked this up for 40 bucks locally tonight. Rusty and dented. Thinking of using it as either a bench or fold down work bench in the new shop
