Stop in for a cup of coffee

in a big way, I just don't see these snow days justified.

I understand there is a wind chill and I understand there are snow drifts and all but why shut down schools? The teachers are still there today anyways.

I would think the average kid would be shoveling and man handling the snow and busting the door down or whatever it takes to get to school.

Free education, a chance to elude poverty and stupidity. Heck, I know kids who would be willing to shank and gouge someone standing in their way of free education, a heated class room and a deal like that.

Because our society seems to think it's OK to sue the hell out of the school district because little Johnny got hit by a car while walking to school in the middle of the street.. And because he got frostbite cuz he wasn't wearing shoes...

Hey Rani while you're on this thread can you help me with information on how you filled your dash on that old contest you guys did? I have a 68 dash that someone cut too and I would like to go radio delete.

Blew the sending unit gasket . I think im going to put a whole new unit in.

Some of the new ones are junk. Seen a couple posts recently of problems. Even if you get a new unit, a lot of guys have trouble with them leaking. If its just a sender seal, halifaxhops has originals that actually fit. Is seal on the fill neck OK?

oops I stepped away and someone talks to me :eek:ops:

I use 3M 8115 or known as "panel bond"

some say its expensive because you need the applicator gun and many will say its the same as JB cold weld. I call BS on that because it's expensive but you simply cant beat it.

Its the same stuff shops use to bond 1/4 panels to cars now a days.

You can drill and tap it, sand it, paint it, and mold it. It holds up against UV rays better than Jb Cold weld and just lasts longer.

ok, now that I am done with all that, you would think I am a sales lady for 3M LOL

sheeeeesh, I went to the grocery store and they are packed with valentines junk.

I really hate this "holiday"

can we go back to Christmas stuff yet. I enjoy Christmas stuff more than this so called love stuff. :sad9::sad9:

I gotta go to class to learn something...

I'll catch you all later when I have no class....

Any coffee left?

Spent the day dealing with the stupid alarm system again at the new house and packing boxes, boxes, and more boxes. Ohhh, my aching back.

On second thought, skip the coffee and gimme a beer.

So, Mr. Ddaddy is it.

I see you are a relatively new member on the site.

Why don't you tell us more about yourself if you like.

You have a lot of our attention with the beautiful artwork you do and great taste in cars :D

Sure!

First is my handle. My name is Dave and everyone at work always called me 'D'. After my daughter was born 11 years ago they started calling me 'D-daddy" and it kinda stuck. :)

I'm 52 years old and I always loved Mopars. I had a bunch of them when I was in my 20s and owned my Custom Auto Upholstery business here in Philly. I had dropped out of Art school when I opened it because I wasn't happy with the cut-throat commercialism of Art that the school was teaching. I always had 3 great interests in my life... Art, Science and cars (although cars are kinda a combo of the other two)

I ran my Upholstery shop for 6 years before carpal tunnel syndrome was destroying my hands (pulled a few hundred too many vinyl tops) so I went back into the Science for my next career. I started working at DuPont Engineering as a lab assistant and now, 28 years later, I'm VP of Technical Development for a Specialty Pharmaceutical company specializing in Nano technology.

Just this last Summer I found the near twin to the '69 Dart I owned back when I first started at DuPont and jumped on the chance to buy it. I found FABO not long afterward as I started to work on her.

And so...here I am. :)
