Stop in for a cup of coffee

Sometimes a coincident really surprises me. I've been binge watching Counting Cars a couple days. Earlier I read here that a member of the band Mastodon died in a motorcycle accident. I turned from my phone back to the TV. Next episode begins and the 1st featured vehicle belongs to a member of Mastodon. Surprise
 
Made it out to garage.
Making a material list as everything i closed on sunday. Hope to finish out little reno over the next couple days.
 
Looked like the "Day of Hope" benefit car show at the Mission of Hope Cancer Center was well attended :thumbsup: . Of course the nearest parking was 2 blocks away :rolleyes::lol: On the 27th they have another fund raiser, large crews of volunteers at busy intersections and parking lots selling a special edition of the local newspaper. "I'll take one! Give the other 19 away!" and hand them a $20 :D

I pick Mushrooms here in Western Pennsylvania every Fall. The weather conditions need to be just right for them to sprout, cool and rainy. I pick what is known as Hen of the Woods, AKA Sheepshead. Another is what I call Piney's they only grow under a certain type of Pine Tree. These are available through out the warmer Months. My Aunt Pats neighbor questioned her one day when she was watering one specific area of her yard. She replied I am watering my Mushrooms. She has a Maple Tree growing in her yard and she waters the Roots underneath that tree because a certain kind of Mushroom here in Pennsylvania only grows off the roots of that type of Maple Tree. She called them Button Mushrooms and they are the most flavorful best tasting Mushrooms I have ever had, Wild or Store bought.

I'm not educated enough to know what mushroom are edible but I do like store bought.
 
Met up with dad. Had a couple beers and a plate of burnt ends. Scenery was nice too.

Maybe 7 years ago, had a dieing oak cut down. Wife posts free firewood on Facebook. 2 old ladies drive up and ask for some. I say sure, whatever you want. Then 1 of them tells me they are growing mushrooms in decaying hardwoods.

Had a great visit with my kids and watching the little grandkids running around was fun. watching the little guys shoot flies with the salt gun with a big smile on their face when they toasted a fly. Life is good.....
 

:soapbox: We gotta stop pokin' fun at busses. Yesterday a bus load of tourists, today a bus load of HS feetball players. One of two choices, either the press has been covering up bus crashes in the past and decided to let that news fly now, or the busses are bein' affected by our bad joojoo :rofl: and finding their own ways to local roadside ditches :realcrazy::lol:
 
Got back from the Stateline bar and grill car show that is a fund raiser for the Dove creek HS football team. Some pics of the ones that caught my eye.

Back from the car show. It was pretty full. I didn’t take any pictures though. It completely slipped my mind. The weather was beautiful though. I see we drove into the ditch earlier today but it seems to be back on the road again

Over the meadow and thru the woods into the ditch we go!
 
I did. It was busy but overall good. I haven’t had a chance to get to too many shows or cruises this year. One more big one coming up in 2 weeks and then that’s probably it for around here.
