Everyone have a Happy and Safe day?
No holiday here in Vietnam. They do not understand Thanksgiving. They do do Christmas though if they are Christians AKA Catholics. Buddhists, who knows what they do ???

Yes, Tet is every holiday that we have in America, rolled up in one for the Vietnamese people. But the date changes every year because it coincides with the Chinese lunar New Year. This year it starts on the 17th of February..

Morning!
We got a dusting of snow here as well.
Not real cold but enough for ground to freeze. Need it frozen, before i need to plow, or my truck makes ruts. Think today is last day for Ron’s truck. Snug up a few fender bolts and stick hood on. Security cam seems to take good photos, and speaker/ microphone works well. Kim was chatting with me as they were cruising the coquihalla.

So I’ve told this story before but my very first Platoon Sgt was a vet from the Vietnam war. He’d been in and out of service a couple times and got back in after 9/11. But what he thought me, the story of watching the stars on the horizon and having them black out as people moved across them, life changing story that I’ll never forget. I’m not sure if he was there during the Tet offensive but regardless, a bridge of two eras.

He finally retired in 2006 for good, died a couple years back. Now as I prepare to retire, I’m realizing just how much a bridge my generations era was. We bridged the horrors of Vietnam thru the Gulf War and into the War on Terror.

My squad leader retires next weekend, we joined 2 months apart in 2004, served in the same companies together a combined 14/22 years. after that, it’s just me from the 2004-2008 group left. And my time is short, within the next year, I’ll hang them up to, either the Army’s choice or mine. Not sure who will beat who to the checkered flag

Guess what I’m saying is I’m thankful to been in this era.

hope the cat enjoys the gourmet dinner you picked out. don't forget to treat yourself also!
(ours would toss her friskies if fish was anywhere in the ingredients)
Typical cat. What he likes this morning, he may turn his nose up to by lunch.
