Stop in for a cup of coffee

There are some Eucalyptus stumps just down the road a piece. Bring a crain and a 3 axle truck. I'm sure the park department be glad to see them gone
I saw someone getting free wood yesterday. Huge tree that took down wires and at least one pole last month. Power company cut it into big sections, but left a lot of it on the shoulder of the road. No doubt the log out furthest was a few hundred pounds alone. I was wondering if it would stay there till a plow hit it. Looked like a couple cords worth, but not a good place to pull over and work, so it has been sitting. Of course, anyone who cuts and splits there own knows there is nothing free about it. Especially if hand splitting. I bought wood this year. One load so far, but probably get another before much more snow flies.

Since it's not my primary heat source, hand splitting is recreational.

Them Eucs make a lot of heat when they burn, but the aroma is most unpleasant

Folks don’t realize how much time you have to invest in a new hound. But all that time creates an inseparable bond. As you so well know with a Shepard you have to earn your spot, they simply will not blindly decide you are ok just because you feed em. The breed is all about trust. I think your next few months getting to know each other will just be an absolute hoot. Give her some hugs for me!
Thank you so much John ! We went for our morning walk , black dog in white sonw .

We had a good “blow” this past summer that took out a few trees in the neighborhood, and about a 1/4 mile away one fell across the road. Tree “belonged” to Neighbor X, as it was rooted on his property, but they weren’t home when it fell on the road, so Neighbor Y (the next door neighbor) cut it up and got it out of the road.

And then the Free For All started…..

About a week later when Neighbor X finally got home they were all pissed-off that someone cut-up and disposed of “their” tree. Instead of saying, “Thanks!” they got all pissy about “the value of the tree “, and they threatened to sue anyone who took “their” wood.

And they don’t even heat with wood, nor do they have a fireplace.

Thought when we moved out here we left all the “Karen’s” behind, in the ‘burbs……

Neighbor Y should have given them the bill for removal... and random person Z a bill for damage to their car from the tree in the road.

STFU is not stated often enough

Morning wood burners and world travelers. Burned a lot of wood at the old place. The new place has an insert in the fireplace, had a good learning curve getting it setup.

Morning. Putting on the uniform one more time. Heading to a long time friends retirement ceremony.
The best part… when I walked in and my old “First Sergeant “ tries to chew me out for being “late”… the look on his face when I said I don’t belong to your unit anymore was absolutely hilarious. I only transferred 5 months ago
