I've tried one of the Amblers.... Now trying to recall which one.One of the bottles I scored from Bryan at the Grimes Fairway was Old Scout Rye from Smooth Ambler Spirits. It's a single barrel picked by the State. It is an 8 year, 116.8 proof, MGP Rye. (I am guessing 51/45/4 mashbill by the taste) How many Ooooo's in smooth? It drinks like a 100 proofer. It's sweet, just a little rye and honey oak on the nose. All those flavors carry over to the palate with a medium creamy vanilla mouth feel and quite a long lingering finish. I went out to the truck and opened the bottle to taste it. Of course I went back in to grab another for my buddy Ted. I knew he'd like it as well. Oh, The best part, it was only 35 bucks. One of the best low dollar sips I have ever bought. It looks like only 116 were available and they are almost gone from the warehouse. Thanks Bryan Castellano

Off to CVMM (Cedar Valley Malt Manifesto) tonight. It's our Whiskey tasting group. We meet once a month and sample a few bottles that the club buys with the dews we pay. Tonight is American Single Malt night. We have a special Cedar Ridge Quintessential release
(the distillery is 60 miles south of here) and 2 bottles from Westland Distillery in Seattle. I am bringing an Ironton from Colorado and a Corsair from Nashville to share. I'll post some photos later.
