Can't decide what to do here. I have the major components for my stroker build now, lacking only cam. Should I assemble my short block, or just keep everything bagged for now? It could be as long as 2 years before the car is ready for the engine depending on the order I do things in and finances. Any thoughts?

If it were me, I'd keep it all bagged. That way you can keep the cylinder walls and bearing areas oiled in the block to prevent pitting (especially if it has been machined), but that's just my 2 pennies.

I have a bare 360 sitting under a porch and have had good luck with just liberally spreading bearing grease (1/16 in of grease layer or so) over all machined surfaces. It's been out there for 2 years with no surface rust starting.

That's pretty much what I thought. Just needed to hear someone else say it. I really just want to play with all those pretty parts when I should be getting the other project car out of the garage.

I think we all know what you mean :)
