You also said there was a mean Knocking? What was that sound? Timing too far advanced at Idle? Never heard a car knock at idle........Maybe I have just not advanced the timing far enough so it would!
I'm not sure what the knocking was exactly, I would have expected pinging from advanced timing, but after I got everything dialed in it went away. I'll see if it's there when I start it cold tomorrow, in which case I'll have to diagnose it further.
I think it was probably mostly the bad coil, but bad points may have played a part as well. Glad to have them out of there and in the trunk for emergencies.
