I have decided to roll with the following for a budget build but do have a few more questions:
Taking the block into the machinist for:
Hot tank/clean
Check cylinders, hoping to re use stock pistons-hone cylinders if good
Mill deck flat
Possibly port work on stock heads-depends on pricing
I will be building up myself:
Clevite main and rod bearings
Stock pistons
New piston rings
Hughes whiplash cam, lifters, timing
Pertronix distributor (recommended by Hughes)
Stock heads
RPM intake
Schumacher headers
Stock oil pan
Not sure on carb, spark plugs, radiator just yet. Need to start digging in on those. Any recommendations or input would be appreciated!
