I tell you what. I still don't like um, but if there was a car that was gonna make me change my mind, it would be that one. That's a damn fine job.

Why, thank you....thank you very much! The 12.8 to 1 compression helps make them sound a little meaner too.

    JBC, that sounded GOOD!

It was sort of comical, I went to take some video of the cutouts opening and closing the day of the engine start before I shut down for the evening. During the filming, the switch went out and I couldn't close them back up! Haha. Go figure huh? It's at the very end of the video. Everything that keeps going bad is just getting laughable at this point. Even the brand new Powermaster alternator was completely dead in the water. Wasn't putting out a charge at all. Took it to a repair shop and sure enough, brand new alternator dead. American or Chinese made, it doesn't seem to matter anymore. It's all a crap shoot.

now days companies are going for "maximum profit". they implement "cost reductions" so they can make their products at minimum cost for maximum profit. They no longer give a crap about quality - it's all about bottom line profit and keeping the investors happy.

Put in the new switch and it's working. Took the car for a drive a couple days ago and at one point I opened up the exhaust and gave it a little romp in first. Sounds pretty dang sweet. I thought it was pretty loud with the UltroFlo's but the open exhaust is much much louder under throttle. It brought a big grin to my face. It was nice to be able to open them up for a few seconds and shut them back down. Thus far they don't leak. If I did it over I'm not sure I would get these particular ones but they seem to be working at the moment.

Just a side note, I always upgrade all my electrical switches with marine grade heavy duty switches. I also use all marine grade fuses, wiring and connectors. They are typically much higher quality. The switches that come with most electrical accessories are very cheaply made and typically not designed to handle the amperage that is run through them.

JMHO but unless you have really radical cam, open exhausts sound like shit.

Anybody with less than a 3/4 grind is just another dreamer/noisemaker.

Not too many hydraulic flat tappet street cams make the cut.

A loud exhaust is not necessarily a cool sounding exhaust.

Lol, I love reading this stuff. I did the quick time, no trumpets. Sound great and didn't have any problems. Because of the frame rail connectors, and the cut outs. One hangs a little lower but not enough to concern me. Not planning on any Duke boy type stunts. At the end of the day, do what makes you happy, that way at least one person is!!

I have not heard 3/4 cam in years. What specks makes a 3/4 cam? I guess I have a bigger one because I pulled in my garage with the cutout ( which I love)open it sounded good.

3/4 cam is what we know today as a hotter than stock street cam. This goes back to the Ed Winfield days.

I put the caps on my cut outs for the first time in a long time Friday night. It does make it more pleasant to cruise.

A year-ish later, these things have started to leak. Out of warranty and on my own now. Hopefully I can find the problem and get them working properly again.

mine started to make a little noise and upon investigation i noticed that one of the bolts that holds the motor onto the butterfly housing had vibrated out. i put new bolts in with lock tight and good as new.
