I'm swapping my 68 Dart column shift for a 68 Dart floor shift column. I just found out one is shorter than the other. So I want to put the shaft from the column shift unit into the column of the floor shift unit. So I dismantle form the wheel down? Also, where the shaft enters the column at the bottom, there's a white plastic bushing. Is this pressed in? What do I have to do to actuall free the shaft from the column?

Thanks

if you dont want to mess with the column your swapping in & everything is tight , you can buy a conversion coupler . mancini racing has them & so does flaming river . they go for about $ 120 us. or switch out everything.

I'm probably going to have to order a cable reel off eBay. Maybe when I am, I have to order a 96-00 steering column cover in case.
I'm having a hell of a time trying to disconnect the connectors on the back of my switches turn. I could hang while I swap everything. Or disconnection from the main beam.
