So, I've Cam-Swapped an Early 273 with the Solid Lifters and Adjustable Rockers.
The Base Circle on the New Cam is .040 smaller w/ a Little more Lift.
I was hoping the Lash would only be short by about .060 or so
but it's 3 times that! almost 3/16" of space between Rocker and Valve...
Could I, or Would You attempt to use up what's left of the Adjuster's
to close it down or is a Longer PushRod a Must in these cases?
Thanks for Input Fellow FABO Brethren

Alright, Thanks! I expected to get a Lecture about messing up the Geometry or the Oiling Holes or Something...

Well, LOL, that will be the case, but just to get it up and running for now, see if the adjuster can reach. Later on, measure up for the correct pushrod length.

Can we still get those? (Cup and Ball Style?) That are only .150 longer?

Yes you can. Trend, Smith Brother and several others will make you the length you need.

In the bad old days, we would take old slant 6 pushrods, shorten them to the length we needed and press the end back in...

Alright! Ended up with still a Whole Lot left!!
Thanks Soo Much Everyone! I've dodged a Bullet!

You want 1 maybe 2 threads showing at the bottom of the rocker. You look good to me.

Would lash caps be an effective band-aid in case you would run out of thread on the adjusters? Would gain you a thread or two?

Is that pushrod cup cracked? 3rd from the left.
I wondered that too! If it is, then they All are!
They all seem to have the same natural line around them, at least on one side.
Can anyone show this same thing on another set?

These look like possible tool marks. They appear to have a bottom. As you can see they reflect light whereas a crack won't.
