In a little over a week all cell phone numbers will be released to telemarketing companies. These calls can cost you, so if you want to avoid them you need to get on the DO NOT CALL LIST that is run by the FTC. The number is 1-888-382-1222 and will take less than a minute to complete. You can call them from the phone you wish to block or go online at donotcall.gov to register. This also works for home phones and will keep them from calling for 5 years within 31 days of registering. You can register up to 3 numbers at once online. I registered my home numbers years ago and it virtually stopped all telemarketing calls.
