I recently hooked up my temp gauge but I figure there is a better way to do it so I would like some suggestions/pictures please since this is likely the best place to get this info. I have a 79-360

I think we need a little more to go on. Stock gauge or aftermarket? If it's an
aftermarket is it a mechanical or electrical? More information will get you
more responses!

I just mounted mine under the dash.

It is a mechanical aftermarket gauge, the engine has a RPM air gap manifold.

Ok gotcha now, your sender is too large for any of the ports on the
intake correct? You have a couple of options, autometer as well as
others sell an adapter that goes in your radiator hose that allows the
large sender bulb to be used. If you don't have a large port anywhere
else to use, those work pretty well. The ports on the air gap are not
large enough. An electrical gauge would give you the second port in
the air gap so you can use the factory sender and the elec aftermarket
sender.

The adapters are available from summit.

The adaptor Idrift posted would be your best route especially if your intake is allready mounted. If you would`nt mind pulling the intake again, maybe there is enough shoulder material to drill and tap to mount sender in manifold, but possibly not. I did`nt know these adapters existed when I did mine, now I believe I`ll get one for myself. I got a solution from a mopar buddy, but in retrospect, the bulb is not in the flow of coolant unless heater is on, but seems to be pretty acurate. some day I`ll swap it out. :-D
