Just letting off steam. Saw an ad on MP had a 904 small block for sale cheap. Don't really need another, but thought I'd take a look. It was for a slant 6. So, I contacted the guy and told him it was listed wrong. He sends back, "Are you sure?", "How do you know?" So, I sent him two pictures of the front of the transmissions showing the difference. He sends back, "Don't know who you are, but mind your own business." Thought it would help him so he could edit and maybe find a buyer. So much for trying to help an "idiot" out. Done!

Life is a test.

If you try to help the guy with the wording on his ad, it's like he is cheating on his test, not putting any effort into it and not learning anything from it because you have done it all for him.

Hence the saying: No Good Deed Goes Unpunished

I have kind of learned to step back and let people figure it out for themselves.

Thanks...

Yup...

I have given up on trying to clarify...

Putting up a MOPAR transmission without showing the stamped numbers is crazy...

When I ask for it, I get silence

"Go be the best you"

I don't try and help people with incorrect ads. That way other buyers will know that they are clueless about what they are selling.

Oh my God! You sound like me here at the office, as some of our Techs are either, A) Lazy, or B) Stupid.

Choose one.

(Or both!)
I've had to work with so-called "professional drivers" on far too many occasions to remember. Try to tell them how to find some places and get the "I rely on Google maps" response.
Ok best of luck dumbass!

Google maps! LOL!

A little side story on that: Our address ends in "NW" (as in 1234 Oak Street NW), but we live SE of town, as the North/South/East/West divide is NOT based on our little town, but somewhere else.

But Google thinks it is, and every damn time I give someone our address I have to ask them, "Are you using an iPhone or an Android?" If they're using an iPhone they're good to go. But if they're using an Android, I have to tell 'em to drop the "NW" in the address, otherwise Google will send to the wrong side of town.

And it gets even better: Everyone, and I mean everyone I've talked to about this has sent an email, a note, or some sort of heads-up to Google about their "f-up", but have they (Google) changed things? Nope. And I've heard, but I haven't been able to confirm, that even our City Council sent Google some sort of heads-up, but to no avail.

(Google certainly has their "head-up...", that's for sure!)

The neighbor to the NE of me says, "Google doesn't make mistakes, don't you know that by now?"

I've had that same experience in more than one other place. In one instance my wife and I were going to a smaller town in Saskatchewan to pick up a garden statue that she bought off marketplace, she had googled the address, and printed the map, plus I used my phone to do the same, we both had the exact same location, but it was off by about 5 miles! I stopped and asked a local for directions to no avail, then finally my wife called the seller to get the proper directions. Talk about a cluster f*ck!

It's just like around here. People RARELY give thanks or updates. If you expect that, that's your first mistake.

But the jackass would probably drown...
The La Brea Tar Pits in Los Angeles trapped <s>animals</s> guys looking for car parts through a deadly combination of natural asphalt seeps (thick, sticky crude oil) and deceptive <s>surface conditions</s> advertisments that acted like quicksand traps over thousands of years. Here's how the process worked:

1.

  • Crude oil from underground reservoirs slowly seeped upward through cracks in the earth.
  • Lighter fractions evaporated, leaving behind thick, sticky tar (asphalt) that pooled in low spots.
  • These pools were often only a few inches to a few feet deep but extremely viscous.

2.

  • Dust, leaves, and rainwater covered the tar, making it look like solid ground or shallow puddles.
  • During the <s>Pleistocene</s> Flintstone age (Ice Age, ~50,000–10,000 years ago), the <s>pits</s> shitty ads were surrounded by <s>grasslands and water sources,</s> bullshit photos attracting <s>herbivores</s> buyers.
