1953 Chris Craft 22' Sportsman W/a Hemi - $14500 (Portland, OR)

She is a 22' Sportsman that is a perfect Classic/User boat, I bought her two years ago from a friend who passed after owning her for over 20 years of meticulous maintenance & ownership. She was re-powered at some time with a 1956 Chrysler Hemi and matching Paragon transmission.
Although not perfect ('cause I'm picky) she will turn heads wherever you go with her...including any boat show! I'm only selling her because we have larger wooden boat and want to cruise her more in the future.

Here are the upgrades to her:
Completely wooded, stained, and 15 coats of varnish sprayed on her.
1956 Chrysler 354 Cubic Inch Hemi
Rebuilt distributor with new bearings, springs, weights & new Petronix electronic ignition
New high voltage coil - New plugs & wires
New alternator - New voltage regulator
New Edelbrock carb
New Stewart Warner tachometer & water temp gauge
Rebuilt raw water pump
Fresh battery
Rare options to include: hour meter, fuel gauge, siren, horn & remote controlled Iva light
Full Sunbrella boat cover

I have receipts for over $30K showing: wooding, varnish, in the last few years.

She was delivered in December 1953 to the Chris dealer in Seattle & I have the original build sheet from Chris Craft & delivery paperwork

She has always been kept in a covered slip with a full boat cover in fresh water.

A total of only 2,082 were built during the nine-year production run of the Sportsman and she was one of the last built being hull No. 2003

Asking only $14,500. or would consider trade for an early vehicle, although NO projects.
She is located on Jantzen Beach,OR.

That's nice. I like how they simplified it by throwing the marine intake in the ditch and putting a nice automotive single 4 barrel on it. The marine intake is a weird two piece dual one barrel Frankenstein lookin thing.

That is one beautiful vintage boat! Good luck with your sale.

I love it

That is one nice hole in the water right there.

Only if I lived on a nice lake with boat house and lift

Nothing better looking than a restored wood boat, and that one has style.

Brings back memories, c.1969 my Dad bought a very similar wood speedboat that had a 301 out of a wrecked Chrysler, it ran very well, we still talk about that boat.

There are a few older wood boats on the lake here. None are chrysler powered. :wack:
