It looked like it was painted with a brush or a roller. It had little bubbles all over it. Maybe it was the original paint and it just deteriorated over the years? I heard that two guys were walking around dressed as Batman and Robin, so they probably drove up in this (Haddonfield, NJ). It was still very cool! I loved them when I was a kid in the 1960s!
 
Thats one of many replicas that were not close to the finish product of some of few originals. But still cool.
 

My uncle was Bob Metz of Shelbyville, In. He helped Barris with that design, along with the Monkee Mobile. He also was part of the Rod & Custom Dream Truck. Below is a link to the Hot Rod Hall of Fame article about him.
