the ORIGINAL "Flight of the Phoenix"

Sometimes I wonder why horrywood tries to rewrite perfectly good movies. The "second coming" was nowhere near as good as the original. Some time ago I scored a copy on DVD. Decided to watch it tonight.

I guess you all know that Paul Mantz, half of the famous partnership that "did" just about every flying movie that Horrywood ever did, "Tallmantz" (Tallman - Mantz) was killed flying the so called "Phoenix"

Frank Tallman would himself be killed in an AC crash, a "routine" ferry flight would get him.......after all the great stunt flying he had done.

Thanks for the trivia. Never knew that. It's one of my all time favorites. Sittin here watchin Sudden Impact now......I think I will put in Flight of the Phoenix next.

My favorite part is where the German tells them he is a model plane designer. LMAO.

But he's right the whole time. The principle is all the same.
