got one of the pretty chrome looking jobs at the nats last year and the thing leaks no matter how you seal it, is there a bettrt housing out there what do you guys run?

I have one of those nice, chrome Mopar thermostat housings and mine leaks as well. I've changed it 3 times and I've used three different high-quality gaskets and the darn thing still leaks. Well actually it seems to weep.

Next time I do it again I'm going with a regular cast iron housing...for some reason few people seem to get leaks with them.

I "had" one also. I will never use another one.

I went back to the cast iron.

throw that chrome junk right in the trash and either go buy a cast one from a parts store or one of those billit ones and be done with it.

If your guys waternecks was anything like the one I got from Mancini, it looked like the gasketed face was cut with a hack saw. What I did was take it to a friends machine shop and I skimmed .010" off the face. Seals up just fine now.
