It appears that the stock TQ needle and seat has a
.091 orfice, part no. NS-31-564, .091 orfice is the only one I can find
I have been, unable to find a seat with a larger orfice
Were larger orfice ones available
In the past ?

NS-31-564 must be a aftermarket part number.
There were two Carter needle and seat part numbers for 71 and up Thermoquads.
The stock needle and seat that came on all Thermoquads was Carter #25-1086 with orifice .0935
The hard to find performance one was Carter #25-1103 with orifice .111

Wow, when I have specific TQ questions in the future, please respond !

A more complete list of Carter Needle & Seat part numbers, including the Competition Thermoquads introduced in 1969.

Carter Needle/Seat # ---- Size
25-1068 ------------- .111 Competition series
25-1069 ------------ .120 Competition series
25-1070 ------------ .125 Competition series
25-1086 ------------ .0935 stock (oem)
25-1091 ------------ .125
25-1103 ------------ .111

I have race Thermoquad cars since they were new.

Here is the problem I have encountered:

As the needle and seat size go up = the fuel pressure needs
to go down to hold.

.0935 = manages 8 to 8 1/4 pr
.110 = manages 6.5 to maybe 7
.120 = manages 6.0 to 6.5

I have been running q16 through a 72 340 carb on mine which requires a ton of fuel. I have successfully been able to make a .130 needle and seat, and it makes more power the higher the pressure, last time out it held over 9psi. Very fine line to all of it.

I bought them on Ebay complete in package,
But they were expensive like $100. a pair.
