Was racing my 07 Charger R/T last weekend in Ardmore Oklahoma and this 69 Dart convertible showed up. Guy said it was first time to the track, drove 85 miles to get there. Said it dynoed 845 wheel hp. Running E85, 8 speed automatic and 6 point roll bar. Ran a very traction limited 6.40 and 6.46 on 275 drag radials..
PS….I was runner up in street class which had 32 cars in it…

70 Dart convertible showed up
That's a 69 dart. There was never a factory 70 dart convertible, some people have created them from 67 thru 69 converts. There is a member here who is /has done that.

And congrats on the runner-up.

That guy with the Dart must have some deep pockets. Your '07 looks like quite the sleeper. Congratulations also on the runner-up in Street!

Am I misreading what you're saying. You're saying they never made a 70 Dart?

The total Dart production for 1970 was 210,104 units, including 169,117 Darts and 40,987 Dart Customs, a significant increase over the previous year's circa-86,400 examples built.

Edit.
I see where you added the word convertible after I made my post.

Never made a 1970 Dart CONVERTIBLE...

Both cars very cool. I'm not crazy about new Hemi installs, in these older cars, but I admit, that's one of the cleanest and best lookin installs I've ever seen.

Lol. I missed that it was a convertible.
Easy, Gentlemen. No factory Dart convertibles in 1970. I have one of 5,004 1970 Dart Swingers with the 340/727. Here's my question. Mine has factory A/C. According to Galen, less than 4% of 340 cars had factory A/C. My fender tag and the build sheet found under the back seat all match. Maybe Alaskan_TA has the answer. He's sharp with the history of our old Mopars.

Sounds like you have 1 of 200, at most, of that option. But how many are left?

Didn’t mean to start a debate….I knew it was a 69 or 70, I guessed wrong….
As RRR would say….drive through

I love that hood. Any idea what it is, or where it's from?

ALso, the hellcat swap is starting to make more and more sense. I look at my engine. Heads, cam, intake, lifters, carb 7,000$, maybe more. NOw add in the rest of the parts, machining and dyno time and a hellcat engine starts to look pretty damn good and it's FI to boot. RMS makes the Kframe that allows a bolt in for it. TTI makes headers.

It was a Stock steel hood that had been cut and that bulge was fiberglass, molded on.

Just a bit of edu-ma-cation.

67 dart no side marker lights
68 dart round side marker lights
69 dart rectangular side marker lights
70 and up rear trunk is angled forward at the top, 67 thru 69 streight up and down

LOTS of other differences but those will get you in the ball park
