PO money orders may work. The guy that ripped me off for 1K went to prison but that still didn't get me my item or money back...

Maybe not, but at least there is some justice. He wasn't ordered to pay restitution, when he gets out?

I don't know if this can be done but maybe the mods can put a red x by the offenders avitar. That way anyone that wants to deal with that person knows going in He Or She has been X'ed. Maybe three X'es and their asked to leave. Its really beyond me how people of the same intrest can do that to someone else. I've givin parts away, also spint hours on line looking for parts for someone else, sold parts dirt cheap. Thats what its all about.
I'm behind the Mods 100% on this one. This is the largest Mopar thread on the internet. I see names on here every day I haven't seen in the past and its growing all the time. They need to lock threads when they get out of hand you could have a full blown war break out.

a recent transaction i had went like this. i dropped cash in the mailbox. a week went by, nothing. 2 weeks went by ,nothing. the seller told me he had not received the money. at this point, i wrote it off as lost or stolen along the way. 3 weeks went by,nothing. the fourth week, i get an email from he seller stating that he had just received the money, and that my parts were on their way. the parts were at my door in less than a week. i know that the guy was telling the truth because he had already had the parts boxed up addressed to me and was just waiting on the cash. i understand our mail service can be delayed but DAMN, a whole month for one little envelope to travel a couple thousand miles??? point is ,i think that ANYTHING over 2 months is more than adequate time to make ANY transaction.

i dont think that the mods want to become the FABO police, and im not asking them to do that, but i also think that if a seller is going to be running amuck selling parts that dont exist , maybe there can be a sticky thread ,with a list of user names associated with bullshit deals. i know how easy it is to change identities and re-register here under different info, but maybe, an address of the culprit or other may deter them somewhat. maybe im just beating a dead horse, but i see this topic come up all the time.

I won't even waste my time on this one. It has been hashed over and FABO has made their position clear. I don't agree with it, but it's not my site.

i'll just post here that if anyone on this site rips me off, i WILL call the cops and not think twice about it. :D
Do you really think the cops are going to get involved over a small transaction?? Most places that will not even show up for car getting stolen.....

And that will solve??? If I had to give my address to join a forum I would simply make one up or use my address from 20 years ago. Face it folks, there is a ton of chest thumpimg & fist pumping that goes on here. Moderators are not going to resolve an issue after the fact. What my proposal was about was to let everyone know that so & so MAY be shady, based on his past activity.....and to proceed with care.....I have another goofy idea, very similar to my first one that once I get my pellet stove troubles resolved I will post it......frigging stove......

Whatever man. It was a suggestion. Handle it yourself then since you have all the answers. Sorry I even bothered.

personally, i wish there was a thread like that here to use for a reference and i thought it was a great suggestion. the addresses that were posted over there are the return addresses and phone numbers that the poster used to receive the money for parts that were never sent out. so its seems to me that in order to GET the money , they are going to need an address to RECIEVE the money at. but ,oh well. sometimes , ya just gotta wing it , and hope for the best.

What is with the attitude?? Just merely pointing something out.....
Maybe we should just let things be the way they are.....when someone gets ripped off let them start a thread about it, turning into a trainwreck and then send it to the shitter, it will be the easiest way to deal with it:banghead::banghead: Not going to be able to please everyone anyway.......

Lot of good points for and against it, but the liability issue's could be disastrous and I'm sure the Mods and Admin's have better things to to with thier time that play Judge and Jury.
I really think the only thing that might work would be an exclusive catagory that can be used for members to post thier ussue with the seller and then the seller can respond.
(Kinda like Ebay in the way both can only say thier peice once) and then Mods or even the FABO forum software can remove or block any further additions to it.

This way it can't turn into a name calling match, AND it removes the huge possible liability issues for FABO.
After that, members can decide for themselves and/or chk around and find out what happened from the parties involved.

By the way, what is the official FABO policy on it?
If ya don't mind my asking.

It's called, arbitration. We all know most thing are seen in two different ways. Yours and mine. At the end of the day, if the seller is dishonest, even with a court judgement, you may never see your money, but if it's a honest issue, it should be resolved.
Protect yourself! Ask for first rights of refusal, photos and a timeline for the deal to succeed. You will probably find a number of sellers not wiling to go this route, and my suggestion is to not deal with them. Listen to your inner self. So far, for me it's cost me a bit of money to have cars check out, but the long term savings have been far better.

Exactly!!! And if you get burned, go cry to mommy, or suck it up. We already have a rating system.

X2
I'm so tired of hearing this argument,If we all would use the feedback column we would have an idea of who we are dealing with. And remember folks the feedback works Both ways .People who publicly out someone cause they feel a deal went wrong will never be buying anything from Me. I just refuse to deal with them. The suspicion of guilt goes both ways and you just can't get rid of that stink. That's all I'm saying on the matter.
