If you were able to buy a new every day grocery getter family car no later than the 50's and stash it away for future use what would it be. Not a performance or special interest car.Just a plain jane low $ car of any brand

I love tri five chevys, but they are sooo expensive now. Id pick a 57 chevy sedan delivery, or a 55 chevy handyman 2 door wagon. 56 handyman 2 door wagon, or 56 4 door bel air wagon..

Would either get the stovebolt six, 3 on the tree combo or the powerpack 283, with powerglide automatic if the wife needed to drive it.

Mopar would have to be a 56 dodge town panel, or 56 town wagon.

Ford would be a 56 F100, or 56 ford panel truck , the one with the F100 front clip.

I'm building a time machine. So far it only goes forward at regular speed, but I"m working on that....

A 57 or 58 Chrysler 300 "C" or "D" for first choice...

58 Plymouth Fury for second

If any of those count.....

Buy a brand new 1952 Dodge M37 Power Wagon.

Lmao.... If I were able to travel time, I highly doubt that my first thought, or even want, would be to buy a car.

Here's the problem...........if you were to travel back in time, you wouldn't have any more money "now" than you did "then" so you'd be in the same shape you were the "first" time around, LOL

About the time I bought my 70 440-6 car, the Datzun Z had just come out and I admit it was tempting. And about that time I ran across an AC Cobra for sale. I don't remember what he wanted, but it was cheap enough I could have bought it. At the time I was an E-5 (ETR-2) in the Navy. I didn't because of the lack of "weather sealing" LOL and the "non room" in the "trunk."

A 1956 Olds Rocket 88.
My dad had one it was a great car. His was a 4 door and about the same color as the one below.

Debbie Downer!!!! Let me dream Dang It!!! :D:D:D

I would buy a Dodge COE

A 57 Chevy Nomad wagon, or a 54 Cadillac Fleetwood, I begged my Dad to buy one when I was 18.

I'd buy lunch for my Dad.
I would do the same. my Dad passed away in 1966 at 51 years old when I was 14. He was a farmer and great mechanic, bought the gas station where I spent my high school years. It was he that passed the mopar bug to me. The only thing better he said was a Packard!

40 Ford coupe, 41 Plymouth coupe, 53 F100, maybe a 55 Royal Lancer, geez I can't decide. Why, oh why, do these questions need to be so difficult? Now my head hurts.....:banghead:

You said pre 50 plain Jane, well Don't get more plain than a 40 Ford coupe. No back seat, little flat head, and some 4 1/2" wide tires. Yep mine would be a 40 coupe.

Not a car, but I would buy a lot of copies of the very first playboy magazine and put them away to sell later. then I would buy many cars from the 50's!! LOL

My Dream Car.....!!! !970 Dodge Coronet 500, Coronet, OR Super Bee ALL 3 from the SAME year, and one of them, a Convertible! And at least one, with "The Elephant" in it... and another one, with a good ole Slant 6......

Crazy? Hell yeah I am, BUT... I know it!
