The cam and timing chain and gears i have in my engine now may have only 100 miles on them, will I need to install a new chain and timing gears when I install a new cam?

As long as it was a good set and hasn't already stretched you'll be ok. I've seen cheap ones stretch in no time at all. I once put a set on a 360 and it spun a bearing 150 miles later. When I pulled it apart the timing chain already had 3/4" of slop. Threw that crap away.

only recamend a change if it a single row chain for upgrade to double or if slop or worn sprockets
