I am going to get a new timing light so I can set total timing. I was looking at the Jegs catolog. I was thinking of geting the Actron digital timing light. Is this the one I need to set Total timing?

I have used a craftsman with the dial back advance for years and they work well

Why not just mark your balancer with a 38 degree line and save the money of buying another light. The measurment is 2 3/8" from TDC

I paid 200 bucks for a SnapOn timing light with advance skew many years ago. Aint used it 10 times in the past 12 years.
Timing tape, borrow a light, anything is a better plan today.

Well I have one of these. Which one do I use?

I just bought an Actron. havent used it yet, but i like the idea of digital. It was $100 @ Autozone. I was looking at the Equus light, but i heard some poor reviews. Its $74.99 @ Hechinger online i think.... Also scored a 1/2" distributor Wrench for $10 @ sears. (I have a small block)

Got mind cheap at AutoZone and for the little us weekend warriors use them it works just as good as the high price ones. And yes, it has total advance with the adjustment knob on the back...
