What wheels are we dealin with here? Aren't they small small bolt pattern with 7/16" lug nuts? ORIGINAL MOPAR small bolt pattern wheels? The lug holes measure .510". That's TEN THOUSANDTHS over 1/2". A 5/8" bit will be PLENTY BIG. MY GOD. What happens on the off chance that maybe you need the bigger 3/4" bit? You're out another 15 bucks? You have an OLD CAR. YOU WILL USE THE EXTRA TOOL SOMEWHERE. Holy **** by the time you figure this out, your grandchildren will be retirement age. Here is what a 3/4" 60 degree bit looks like in an early A body wheel. I got a 3/4" bit for a couple of reasons. First, I was refacing the bevels in some truck wheels that had 5/8" studs and secondly, I have several 1/2" drills including my drill press, so a 1/2 shank is no problem for me. The outside of the bevel measures roughly .625. Guess what? That's 5/8"! Imagine that! I knew what I was talkin about. I ought to. I've been doin this almost FIFTY FARKKIN YEARS. I didn't JUST fall off the danged turnip truck. See how much more material the drill bit has in relation to the outside of the bevel? A LOT! A 5/8" bit will be fine! Get what you want. By the time you make your mind up to get anything, the car will have returned to mother Earth!
