Hi everyone! Need a little help here. I have a 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger with the stock spring location in the rear. I've just purchased 15x7 rims all the way around with 4.25 backspace. I am going with 255/60-15 for the rear but am stumped about the tire size for the front!! I have hooker super comp pro headers in the front with a stock suspension set up. Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated and helpful!!!

I have 15x7 Cragars on front of my 74 Swinger with 215-60s I believe the backspace is 4 inches and is very close to the fender lip and rubs if car is too low
So you may run into a problem with 4 1/4 backspace. I havent tried my 15x7 with 4 1/4 backspace up front yet tho so not certain

The optimal backspace for a 15x7 wheel
front 3 3/4 inches
rear 4 1/4 inches

Awesome chart, thanks for the additional info! I plan on keeping the stock ride height so I hope I didn't screw up by getting all my wheels with 4 1/4 backspace! I'll try the 215/60-15s on the front and pray it doesn't rub!

I hope it works out for you my fender lip sits right over the tire and it almost sticks out but is flush with outside of fender.
I hope my 15x7 CMX wheels work on my Car

My car sits pretty low too

I like getting front and rear tire height as close as possible. That way, if you have a flat, your spare will match up pretty closely. You might not think that's pretty important, but if your flat is on the rear and you have a cone or clutch type sure grip, it will thank you for a spare that's close to the rear tire height. Putting a tire on one side on a sure grip unit in the rear will burn the unit up very quickly.
