More pictures!
got some speedmaster CNC heads since they were on sale. Need to do a little clean up and checking but they don't look too shabby..
mocked 'em up to see how it all looks with teh intake..
I ordered a Howards Solid Roller cam, still waiting for it to show up and the lifters. Then I can finish up the heads and start assembling the rest. She's gonna rip.

started the disassembly of the cnc'd speedmaster heads I got on black friday. I'll have to change the springs to match the cam i'm going to be using.
1.85 installed height with the springs that came with the heads, 1.500 spring seat, .530 guide, 11/32 valves.

Man that sounds health.
What valves did you use,I got pro comps that were cnc'd by Hughes and bought them from a member... no valves

I believe these are chevy length 11/32 2.02/1.60 valves.. These came with the heads I swapped the springs over when I went through them.

stuck the old hood back on, fixed the headlight adjusters, dash lights, speedometer and removed the steel backing behind the bumper. I was hoping I would be able to fix the messed up bumper without the steel brace, but I think i'll end up destroying the chrome if I do. Oh well, maybe i'll just buy a fiberglass front bumper and get it chrome wrapped.
Also noticed how the idle picks up when the fuel pump and electric fan are turned off. Fan is already set up on a relay, so I'm thinking it's mostly the fuel pump causing the draw. Might have to go through some wiring and wire up a relay to absorb the load of the pump.

I put my dirt track Beyea mufflers back on the car, just to see how loud it is with the new engine.
The phone.. does not do the sound ANY justice, at idle (900rpm ish) sound meter was reading about 90db. In person it sounds pissed, shakes your chest and rattles vehicles next to it. It's beautiful.

I wonder if I add a couple of 16" glasspacks in line with the beyea mufflers if that will soften the sound and keep the federales from bugging me....Might have to give it a try.

Haven't even ran the new combo at the track yet and I've already started buying parts for the stand alone nitrous fuel system.... I think I'm gonna need a cage...

Wow!!!!!! That sounds soooo WICKED!!!

Those dirt track mufflers are just soooo damn loud.. I put the single Chambers back on.. still mean though.

I started planning and mock up for the nitrous system, might take a couple months to get stuff. Still need to swap wheels and stuff too.
Side note... 275's barely fit. Don't mind the wrong direction tread, it was just to mock up.

well, slapped the 255's back on and took it to opening day at the track. Besides the gf kissing the wall with her duster. It was ok. I had to make the 80mile trip back home in the dart... 4.30 gears and highway isn't all that great. lol
Best run. No tuning changes. Roll into the throttle off idle. 4600ft DA - [email protected] Sea level is gonna be a blast.
Here is the run from a spectator. Poor Z got gaptized. (gf's wreck is just after my run)

2nd run, no tuning changes, Tried to full throttle off idle, spun and had to peddle. hit the limiter on the 1/2 and 2/3 shifts ran [email protected] still 4600DA
I have in car video and another spectator video. The mustang was given a kids eat free pass at Gapplebee's...

Well, last track day kinda sucked.. Apr 27, one of the intake rockers seized on the shaft and held the valve open. Mr. Piston decided to say hi. Didn't realize what had happened, as the sound it made almost sounded like a burnt plug wire or bad spark plug. Up until I got it back to the pits and really heard it. The carnage wasn't all that bad, almost no noticeable damage to the piston. I guess my modified oil bolt on this side didn't get drilled large enough. So I fixed that issue.
Found someone in town selling a brand new set of Harland Sharp Rockers for $400. Found a new Edelbrock intake valve on Amazon for $6, measured for new pushrods and bought some chromoly pushrods from Summit. Tore everything down and pulled the oil pan to make sure no more surprises inside. Everything looked Good in the oil pump and bearings, I got lucky. Got the rest of my parts saturday afternoon.. engine back together and fired by midnight. Honestly I think the rocker was having some issues the whole time, because it idles much smoother now.
I have a video of the carnage pass.. it sounds pretty normal, I believe the failure happened pretty early in the run. Probably around the 40second mark in the video.

Ugh.... Didn't stay fixed.. never using bolts again.
That is one of the most horrible noises I hope to never hear again. Now I don't trust the stands. Time for some trick flows and studs.

I’m wondering here what was the oiling bolt hole size and what did you go to?
Also, your shift RPMs?
