Hello! I've got a 1968 dart that's a bit too low for my liking. Wondering what I'd need to do to get it back up to stock ride height and how big of a tire I can run without rubbing excessively. The last owner lowered it 2" and has some really small tires on the rig, not too pleasant getting in and out of, and not too road friendly for the roads around my area. New to forums and what not so sorry if it isn't the proper way of doing this.

I have it on jack stands currently. Definitely would not have bought if it was squatted like that

i'm guessing it's a low rent drop with blocks and the T-bars are just turned down.

lose the 2" blocks out back and that'll put the *** end back up.

if you have standard spindles (which i'm guessing from the ad copy you do), then you just need to crank the bars back up to the ride height you are desirous for. if they're drop spindles you'll need to swap them for standard units.

loosen the lower control arm nuts so you don't waste your bushings. the full boogie is in the factory service manual. which you can download for free over at mymopar.com

you *might* need a realignment after setting your ride height.

use the search function on tire size. it's a popular item of discussion and there are tons of threads on the subject.

ETA: did not see the mag force 2" drop spindles. yeah, lose those

Can you post some photos of the rear suspension so we know how exactly it was lowered by the previous owner. You're not giving us much to work with here.

*edit - I see now it has lowering blocks? Yeah, take those bad boys out if you want the back end to sit higher. This ain't rocket science.

I would first remove the lowering blocks and then see what it looks like. I've raised and lowered on both ends, and even when fiddling with just one end it changed what it looks like at the other end. Raising the rear gets you started to see what you want to do as far as stance, then take additional measures as desired.

As stated...

Replace the front magnum force spindles with stock spindles. You could probably trade someone here on FABO. They are pricy parts from Magnum Force. The good thing is it should not effect your alignment.

Next remove the lowering blocks from the rear and get some OEM style u bolts with the flat area on the top of each and torque to spec.

The front torsion bars can be adjusted to raise or lower the car BUT it will effect the suspension geometry usually negatively over stock.

Good luck to you

Yep, just lose the drop spindles and lowering blocks.

You WILL need a new alignment. I suppose in theory if you left everything set exactly as it is now, but without the lowering blocks and drop spindles, you might retain the original alignment specs (although you probably don't know if they're any good to begin with). But more than likely the ride height minus the drop spindles and all the other settings the same is not going to be where you want to be.

You do not want to adjust the suspension so that the front is higher than factory. The factory geometry by itself is not ideal for radial tires, and raising it from the factory height makes the suspension geometry worse. Lowering the car from the factory height, with standard height spindles, improves suspension geometry for radial tires.

The 2” drop spindles are based on a 73+ spindle, so yes they’ll fit a ‘65 if you use a large ball UCA or a ball joint adapter.

It would also use a 73+ Mopar disk brake, or a kit for a 73+ disk spindle (some are drop spindle specific). Most of the disk brake kits available increase the track width and use the 5x4.5” pattern, so depending on your current brake/wheel set up you might need a different backspace or bolt pattern on your front wheels.

Can you pm me regarding the drop spindles?
I want to set my crossmember on the ground.
