Finally feeling better so I was asked if I would port a couple intakes today and I actually said yes. The real shocker is I’m doing a Super Victor and a regular Victor for get this, a small block Ford. I’m guessing this will make number 3 and 4 for small block Ford. I won’t be getting them till around New Years weekend so it will give me time to get a couple of my projects finished. Kinda felt good to say yes for a change.

Would you like me to send you a set of 906's to port and a matching cast iron intake.

Just saw this commercial, get you one and get to that porting!!

Aaaaaaa. No thank you. I still have my set of 906’s that ran 9.82 back in 1980. I often wondered what they would do if I upgraded from old 3/8 valves to modern stuff.
OK, I guess I won't bother sending them COD.
Those 906's you did back in 1980 sound like they worked really well.

I wish I could grab all the credit but they were worked on before I got them. Even to the point of having some splashzone epoxy in the roof. When I get my equipment going I may pressure check them and possibly change out the valves. I never saw any flow numbers on these heads.

Gotta be close to 320-340 cfm unless you're car was really light

Good for you John, keep movin'! Your work will make someone happy/faster.

My son actually talked him into getting them ported. He’s kinda one of these guys that thinks you only pick up 4 horsepower getting an out of the box intake manifold ported so hopefully I can get more than that.

I’m surprised curiousity didn’t motivate you to put one of those old 906’s on the bench.

It doesn’t need to still be a usable head for a flow test :poke:

Honestly I rarely have my big block head adapter on my bench anymore. And when I did earlier this year to flow my buddy’s Victor head I had my big bore head adapter on. I guess curiosity has never beaten out laziness. Lol. I finally got my Winona valve seat grinder wired up and leveled up this week. A buddy of mine that had used one is hopefully stopping over Tuesday to shorten my learning curve and seeing what I should order from Silver Seal or Goodson. Intakes are supposed to be dropped off by my son today so I’ll get started on those ASAP.

Cool, a floating head bench?

Yes Sir. I think I’m going to like that. I ordered and got a laser rpm tool yesterday so I can calibrate everything
Very cool. That's what I learned on last June & love using it, nothing else to compare to but I like it.
Favorite thing was getting use to running reamers thru guides when the table is floating it is easy now but I thought something was going to happen bad at 1st. We use goodson stones, I'm not sure who makes stuff like the seat cutters and other bowl hog cutters we use, enjoy !

Seat grinder that needs leveling?
Or is it a guide and seat machine?
Model number?
