Hey Guys!!

I want to beef up my frame on my 67 Barracuda convertible.
Of course I will put frame connectors. But, what about torque boxes? should I put just the front or just the rear or both?

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Mike

Torque boxes will help with rigidity. Putting frame connectors on will help even more. IMHO, the rear torque boxes are a bigger benefit than the fronts.

My 70 Swinger has boxes front and rear and it rode like a tank and twisted all over the place under power. Put on a set of 2x3 frame connectors... night and day difference. Doors open & shut solid now.

I wouldn't spend the amount of money the repop guys want on a set of torque boxes if you are putting connectors in. The only other thing that would be a resto type build. Otherwise, spend the cash on some 2x3 .083 or better yet .120 wall rectangular tube and weld those in as connectors.

Here is a link showing the tourque boxes and installing them.
