I'm new at this but is all torque converters welded to the flywheel? Also I was browsing the Internet to get info on my torque converter part # 10420 and can't find anything dose anybody have any info. Thanks

i never ever seen a welded torque to the flex plate. someone should have there welder taken away from them lol

You sure you are not confusing STARTER RING GEAR with "flywheel" and "flex plate?"

You could never get the TQ on/off the engine if the TQ was welded to the flex plate!!!

Automatic cars do not HAVE a "flywheel." The flex plate:

bolts on where the FLYWHEEL in a stick car would be, but the TQ provides the MASS that would "be" the flywheel.
