Question can i knock off the weights of a 360 converter and use it on a 318 ?

yes...the weights that are on the face on the converter....

Except for 360s usually come with 727s and 318s usually with 904s. And the TCs are transmission specific.

Yes its a 727, i was told by a local trans shop that it would have a vibration if i did that. It has a balancing weight on the outside and weights on the face too. I figure the weight on the outside was for the converter and the ones on the face for the engine right ?

be careful "knocking" the weights off of the converter. A buddy of mine tried that and peeled open a hole in the converter, LOL. Grind the weld, and weaken it before "knocking" it off.

Those stamps are called spot-welds?

ok, those are likely oem welds, on an oem converter. you can probably knock those off, or wiggle them off with a crescent wrench on the weight.
