hello,
i'm new to this forum and even more new to front end repair.

i have a 1969 dart 4 dr with 225 slant 6 and automatic trans.

where can i find the bushings that are on either side of the lower control arm where the torsion bar goes through?

are these the same as strut rod bushings?

any help is greatly appreciated.

regards,
robert

There is one bushing on the lower control arm it is an outer an inner shell of metal with rubber in between. Thi si the bushing that the lower control arm pivots on. There is a steel rod that goes from the outer end (near the wheel) of the lower control arm forward to the k-member. This is the strut rod and there is a rubber bushing on either side of this.

Anyway there are a bunch of places to get this stuff. I purchase most of mine from Mancini Racing. There prices are as good as anyones and they only deal with mopars so the folks you talk have knowledge of what you are asking for.

A couple of years ago I rebuilt my front suspension. I used polygrahite for the upper control arm bushings, and strut rod bushings. I was told not to use them on the lower contol arm because they wear out to fast. Anyway the strut rod bushings creaked like crazy so I just swapped back to rubber for the strut rod bushings. I feel no loss of control and the creaking is gone.
