Trans suggestions for 5.9 mag swap

Swap a late model magnum motor into my 66 fish. Not sure which trans to use.I would like to stay with auto and be streetable. Thanks for any suggestions.

a 904 will work fine. You will need a balanced flex plate available from B&M for the Magnum engine though.

I 2nd the 904. A 904 fits much nicer in the older A-bodies also. Put a good Trans-go shift improver kit in it and it will last a long time.

I think the newer magnum engines are balanced different than the older 360 la engines so make sure you get the right balancing flexplate for it.

Thanks for the info.I really didnt know what I was getting into with the late model Magnum motor,but got a good deal on a crate motor.A 904 is the way to go then.
