I want to buy a Transbrake valve body for a Torqueflight. No one seems to have a bad word for them. I've e-mailed them a couple of times but don't get any reply. I can't ring 'em coz' I'm in Australia half a world away. Are they still in business? Or does some one here have a spare they would consider selling me?
Cheers
Tony

I have 3 of his transbrakes including one was bought back in 1993 and is still being used....all have worked excellent...

CRT....Cope Racing Transmission has a new line of transbrakes coming out....If you can not get ahold of Joe at Tranzact ...give John at CRT a call...

If he is buying a transbrake.....turbo action would not be my 1st choice....had one...sold it ...bought a tranzact cause I got tired of having the brake not lock up....but then again...what do i know...only been using transbrakes for 20 plus years..

Thanks all Joe has gotten back to my e-mail. I have a Turbo Action Converter but don't want their valve body as it not a LBA type. Also when I wanted to contact Turbo Action about making a change to my converter they have no means to contact them if you live on the opposite site of the planet. Nice converter but given we live in global economy often online I thought that was pretty ordinary.

Cheers and thanks again for you replys

T/A wouldn't be my first choice in a trans brake either... I've had a tranz act in my old car and that was one quick brake. I've also got two Griners and sold the other that was a LBA. I presently run a Pro Trans clean N brake which I really like.

Joe was in extremely bad health from mid 2021 until late 2024. A heart attack and a mis-diagnosed neuro muscular issue combined with the wrong medication rendered him nearly totally bed ridden for that entire period. Sometimes it is best when we know the details of the difficulties others face before we advance to some ugly conclusions.

Joe is now back up and healthy and has some great valve body projects that will likely be of interest to many of you. I will continue to run TranZact stuff in my cars as they have always worked and they are more affordable that most. By the way, many of the products out there are actually copies of Joe's original design - he just didn't have the bucks to patent his innovations. Also, I am certain he will return your call now if you will ring him up.

I have never heard of an instance where Joe would not help a customer who encountered a problem - Sorry 440outlawdart.

not to be mean.i bought a trans off tranzact years ago with brake.had trouble off of it from the start.pulled the pan.i seened all kinds of wrong stuff.using nuts as shims.he would warranty it and told me take it to someone here to fix it

A&A or ProTrans for brakes.
I know guys that had up issues with TransAct a few years ago.
I just bought a clean neutral TB valve body from A&A. So far it’s been great dealing with them. Communication was great and shipped it within 2 days.

Wow! 2016 post brought back from the dead. Think I still have the big solenoid that the transact brake takes if someone is in need. 70AARCUDA needed it but his health took a dive before I ever got it to him. Miss that dude. Still have my Pro Trans brake, but it’s in my spare 904. Current 904 is A&A parts including the brake.

I think is/ was the case that those two outfits sell the same brake these days, and share technology.

Don’t have a picture of the A&A, but Griner on the L, Pro Trans on the right. I know for a fact Pro Trans builds in house as I saw them stacked up being built at their shop when they were in CA.
