transfer slot on an edelbrock 600

Car is mild 360, headers intake and 4 barrel, just wondered if i need to show any of the transfer slot.

The Carter design is not quite the same as the Holley. So if you're asking does it need .020 to .040" showing, probably not.

Is it stumbling off-idle?

i haven't driven it yet just checking and cleaning it, will fit it tomorrow

Before it is installed, I would just set it up with 1/2 of the idle slot covered or uncovered as the case may be. Twist the idle trim screws out 2-1/2 turns out with the stock rods and jets. That should be a good base to start the engine with and you’ll be able to move on from there.
