Transmission brackets?

I forgot to install the transmission brackets on each side of the transmission before I installed the engine. Are these two brackets needed for sure?

Does someone have a picture of where these go? I don't remember?? I just put headers on the car to, which seems to make everything more difficult!

All depends on how you feel about your bellhousing breaking because of the torsional load it has to absorb without the braces. If it will help any I can post pics of slant braces. Sorry, that's all I have. Gave up V8s for Lent.

I have seen many, many cars without them including my race car, with never a sign of a problem. Don't sweat it I say.

If you have a small block, there should be a threaded hole near the back on both sides of the block just above the oil pan. Then there is a spare hole down low on the bellhousing on each side. The brackets mount there and they are different side to side.

been drag racing with out the brackets for years...

i would not worry about it....

I fogot to add that I agree......not really essential or important. My Demon did not have these for years including some years at the strip. :cheers:
